About Gary Little

I am the Chief Technology Officer of Zealty Online Search Inc., an advanced real estate software company located in Sechelt, British Columbia, Canada.

I was born in Vancouver and grew up on Vancouver Island before returning to Vancouver to earn three degrees from the University of British Columbia: B.Sc. (Mathematics & Chemistry), M.Sc. (Chemistry), and LL.B. (Law).

I practised business law for several years in Vancouver, focusing on the emerging field of Computer Law. At the same time, I became an expert on the computers made by Apple, Inc. and eventually wrote 7 books about them which were distributed worldwide by major U.S. publishers. I also created several popular commercial computer programs.

As a result of my diverse computer-related skills, I caught the attention of Silicon Valley firms in California. I was eventually persuaded to move to the San Francisco area where I worked as a senior software marketing manager at the worldwide headquarters of Apple for 10 years and then at Sun Microsystems for 6 years. I was also the Editor-in-Chief of a major computer magazine with a circulation of 200,000.

I eventually returned to Canada and I now reside in the Sechelt area. After my return I was a licensed real estate agent for 18 years and I also created advanced software to make it easier for people to buy and sell homes on the Sunshine Coast, notably an interactive real estate map (later expanded to cover the entire province of BC) and a real estate statistics service.

I am a former director of The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada — Sunshine Coast Centre, a member of the Historical Map Society of British Columbia, and a former Vice-President of the Halfmoon Bay Community Association. I am also a founding and honourary lifetime member of Apples British Columbia Computer Society.

I enjoy geocaching and hiking, and I am an ardent collector of antique maps and other historical memorabilia relating to western Canada and the Sunshine Coast.
